At long last I’ve revived my Tumblr and I’ll probably use it to post drawings and music again. For real. Probably maybe.
I always junk a few ideas during scripting. Here are a couple of exchanges in the OWS story that didn’t really happen:

Eve was meant to be a little more apprehensive in the first draft, Marigold a little less preoccupied. It didn’t really match the mood of the story or their personalities in the end. In stories like this it’s a balancing act to justify each character’s role and also make those roles believable.

Here’s some thumbs of the duck dream page. A little less open than the finished version but the ideas are there. I wanted the duck to literally descend from bliss to fear to exhaustion, and this draft didn’t really accomplish that for me. But thumbnails are always very helpful in the layout process, and I try to get them down as efficiently (if not well) as possible. From there the editing is a lot easier.
And here’s a little bit of the script, a final draft before the art that’s mostly unchanged. I enjoy using Scrivener’s index cards feature for comic scripting, though it’s kind of an awkward system to work in.
That’s it for now. More surprises to predictably come.
